"In a world where digital and physical realities collide, ART must navigate the complexities of identity and representation."

When I first saw this painting, it gave me a sense of enclosure, surrounded by the same person and being cussed at, telling me to f*ck off already. But that is the reality of the digital world we know today.

[A painting that I am particularly drawn into... ]

[Each of layer of shadow/clone of yourself ] https://www.capitainpetzel.de/artists/54-pieter-schoolwerth/works/5553-pieter-schoolwerth-fuck-me-1-2016/

Viewing the layers between the real person [ which has clothing photograph and his arms] and the cut out layer of himself. First impression was a bit annoyance, the layers seems to be shadows and felt like they are me judging myself, revealing the " Fuck Me " true meaning. Each layer creates this visual complexity that mimics digital manipulation, just like how people are able to edit and layer their photography, or even videos and artworks could be edited by Artificial Intelligence. The painting's compostion features the overlapping which stimulate a sense of depth.

The Digital Manipulation

Which, to me, is the real purpose of this painting. There's certain images from some layers were blurry and low-resolution images, resembles the limitation of digital images. Besides the layering that mimics it, the color plays a huge role as well. Pieter Schoolwerth often uses vibrant and saturated colors which draws people's attractions, same as the visual impact that digital world does.

By incorporating elements of digital imagery, Pieter Schoolwerth critque how technology shapes our understanding of identity and desire, lead to viewers reflect their lifestyle in living this digitally saturated environment.
