“Listening is an active process; it requires engagement and openness to the unexpected.”
Music has always been Jazz, or Hip Hops, or any type of genres with or without vocals, but an artist rediscovered a new type, one that's controversal on his practise of arts, some might say its a joke but to this artist, " it is a way to explore the world and our place in it." Which is NOISE.

[The installation artwork that I am particularly drawn into... ]

Yasunao Tone was born in Tokyo Japan , 1935. He graduated from Chiba University in 1957 with a major in Japanese Literature. Early 1960s had co-founded "Group Ongaku". Then in 1972 moved to USA, and created experimental musics trends in the electronic music genre, proposed concept of "Paramedia Art" etc. Held concerts in the Kitchen (New York), MoMA, and more.
In 2007, " Convulsive Threshold " By Russell Haswell & Yasunao Tone. The digital album showcased his practices of sounds through exploring technology, engaging the audience, influencinf his concept of experimental art.

Starting off with the exploration of technology. Russell Haswell and Yasunao Tone have a rich history in exploring the extremes of sound and technology, where they intertwine and where the potential lies for deviation from the function intrinsic to their design. But let's only focus on the man of the hour, Yasunao Tone. While Haswell has disentangled the limits of DAT - Digital Audio Tape, Tone utiltise these Wounded CDs and his interactions with data entry, software interfaces to modify and repurpose it, challenge the traditional notions of music creations and performances. By manipulating these technology, Tone was able to create unexpected sounds that might add a new variation of music.
"Convulsive Thershold" had gone through years researches and experimentations, resulting an immersive experience perfromance for the audience to listen, engaging them actively, given a glorious spiral of sound, space and dynamics. As a result, presents an entirely new form. The concept of this kind of art evokes emotions, blurring the lines between the sounds and physical experience.
Tone's experimental art had shown his practice of sounds, which is rooted in experiences than a product, not many might like it, but it fulfill the purpose of being an experience, and " Convulsive Thershold " prioritizing the process og listening and experiencing over the controversal musical structure.
